Pirates Quite the Riot with their Cannons
9/7/2008 1:38:45 PM
The Riot made the trip to the pirates cove with hopes to be the 4th team of the year to ransack the pirates home and steal a win, but the pirates were ready for a fight. Both teams started with strong drives that stalled across the 50. The Riot quickly took the advantage with an Interception only to get stopped by the fierce Pirates D with a huge 10 yard tackle for a loss by DE Gaddie and DB Gambles. The Pirates O scored the first points of the game in through the air by 2 catches by WR Schwab for 10 and 18 yards and a 34 yard pass from Jeremy Bell to Deontae Vaughn for TD. The Riot answered back right after the half with a 63 yard run for TD, Interception on the following Pirates Drive and 32 Yard Passing TD. The Riot made a productive 4 mins after the half but that would be that they would see the Endzone. The 4th quarter saw 2 TDs from the Pirates, the first with a productive run drive by RB “Rev” Dixson who gained over a 100 yard rushing in the game and TD from Vaughn, and the second TD with 20 seconds left by RB Hobbs. The Pirates D finished off with a game ending INT pick by Safety Jeff Adams. By the time the canon shots were fired and the fog set in, the final score was Pirates 21 Riot 12.
